Navigating the Digital Apprenticeship Service (DAS) Account

The Digital Apprenticeship Service (DAS) is the UK government’s online platform designed to help employers manage and fund apprenticeships. Whether you’re a large levy-paying organisation or a smaller non-levy paying business, your DAS account provides direct control over your apprenticeship journey.

For Levy-Paying Employers

If your annual payroll bill exceeds £3 million, you are a levy-paying employer. Your DAS account is where your Apprenticeship Levy contributions are managed, enabling you to fund high-quality apprenticeship training.

With your DAS account, you can:

• Utilise Your Digital Funds: Access and spend your digital funds on approved “Apprenticeship Standard” training programmes, up to the maximum funding band for each standard. This covers the majority, if not all, of your apprenticeship training costs.
• Monitor Spending and Track Balances: Keep a clear overview of your apprenticeship budget. Your account allows you to check your available spending allowance and track monthly debits as payments are made to training providers.
• Connect with Approved Training Providers: Easily search for and connect with approved apprenticeship training providers. To connect with us, you will need our UKPRN: 10005264.
• Advertise Apprenticeship Vacancies: Use your account to advertise your apprenticeship opportunities. You can also allow Prostart to advertise vacancies on your behalf, expanding your reach to potential apprentices.
• Delegate Administration to Smart: Grant Prostart administration rights to your account. This allows us to efficiently upload all your apprenticeship data, including apprentice details and programme information. You will simply need to “approve” new enrolments as they are initiated – we’ll guide you through this quick and easy process.

For Non-Levy Paying Employers (SMEs)

The Digital Apprenticeship Service (DAS) is now the mandated platform for all smaller employers who are not required to pay the Apprenticeship Levy. This gives you direct control and visibility over the apprenticeships within your business, similar to larger organisations.

Through your DAS account, you can:

• Directly Manage the Apprenticeship Process: Take charge of your apprenticeship journey from start to finish. This includes advertising your apprenticeship vacancies and agreeing on a suitable “Apprenticeship Standard” for your chosen candidates.
• Connect with Approved Training Providers: Find and connect with approved apprenticeship training providers to deliver the training for your apprentices. You will need our UKPRN to connect with us: 10005264.
• Advertise Apprenticeship Vacancies: Utilise the platform to post your apprenticeship job openings. You can also authorise Prostart to advertise these vacancies on your behalf, helping you reach a wider pool of talent.
• Delegate Administration to Prostart: Provide Prostart with administration rights to your DAS account. This enables us to streamline the process by uploading all the necessary apprenticeship data for you. Your role will primarily involve a simple “approval” for new enrolments, and we’ll provide full guidance on how to do this.
