‘Careers Education in England, 2024/2025’ Report Released

The Careers & Enterprise Company (CEC) has published its comprehensive report for the 2024/25 academic year, drawing on insights from over 331,000 young people, nearly 5,000 schools and colleges, and 783 employers. The findings highlight a positive trend in the national careers landscape:

• Improved Provision: Careers education in schools and colleges continues to strengthen, with average Gatsby Benchmark achievement rising significantly from 1.9 in 2016/17 to 6.0 today.+1
• Student Readiness: Young people report feeling more prepared for the world of work. By Year 11, awareness of apprenticeships has reached 79%, narrowing the gap with A-level awareness (83%).+1
• Employer Investment: Despite rising costs, employers are increasingly investing in careers education to secure and build future talent.+1

The report also emphasizes the growing importance of inclusive and personalized support, particularly for students with SEND, to ensure no young person is left behind as the labor market evolves.

Launching “Small Business Summer”

We are thrilled to announce Small Business Summer, a brand-new careers campaign delivered by Amazing Apprenticeships and supported by the Edge Foundation.

Taking place throughout the summer term (April – July 2026), this initiative is designed to help students in years 7–13 discover the unique opportunities available within their local business community. The campaign aims to:

• Increase awareness of the diverse range of local small businesses.+2
• Highlight the specific benefits of starting an apprenticeship within a smaller organization.+1
• Connect local talent with employers through visits, talks, and work experience.
