I have completed my ILM Team Leader Supervisor Level 3 Apprenticeship.  I was already in a Leadership role and heard about this through Nottingham City Council. I felt that I needed to learn more skills on how to manage people.

The benefits of this apprenticeship has been immense for me. I have learnt so much from this course and I can now manage others with so much more confidence. I have learnt about my self awareness and better approach techniques. I have learnt so much more on communication methods and how best to get my team motivated with different coaching and learning theories.  Prostart have supported me so much. My tutor was amazing and had to be so patient with me. When I first started my apprenticeship, I never even knew that there was a difference between knowledge and skills. It took my tutor, Dawn, to really sit with me and go through the differences. She was so patient with me and understanding towards me. My tutor immediately noticed that I lacked confidence and was able to help build this in aid to manage my team.

I would recommend this to anyone who is thinking of managing a team. I would explain that this apprenticeship is really good in giving you more awareness on your self and others which really helps with managing a team. My employer/ Manager has been so supportive of me the whole way through and very often checked in with me to ensure I am on track and ask if I required any support from him. I am awaiting to commence my ILM level 5 and am really looking forward to it.
