Team Leader or Supervisor level 3

The Team Leader/Supervisor Apprenticeship is for someone who can take responsibility for managing a team or discrete project. They can support, manage and develop team members, manage projects, plan and monitor workloads and resources. They can take responsibility for delivering operational plans, resolving problems, and building relationships. It is applicable to professional team leaders, first line managers and supervisors from all sectors – the private, public or third sector – and all sizes of organisation.

Key responsibilities are likely to include supporting, managing and developing team members, managing projects, planning and monitoring workloads and resources, delivering operational plans, resolving problems, and building relationships internally and externally.

This Apprenticeship has been designed to provide access to development opportunities for as wide a range of individuals as possible. This includes individuals who are at the start of their career in leadership and management and who wish to take their first steps into professional management.

Additional Knowledge/Training

  • Monthly training Sessions covering knowledge outcomes
  • Monthly portfolio building days, and one-to-one support sessions
  • Mock EPA prep sessions for professional discussion, structured interview and on-line test
  • Weekly training Sessions for Functional Skills (If Applicable)
  • E-Learning interactive resources, Online Portfolio, workbooks and Quiz’s
  • Functional Skills (including English Level 2 and Maths Level 2)
  • Completion of Employer rights and responsibilities booklet

The entry requirement for this Apprenticeship will be decided by each employer, but may typically be five GCSEs at Grade C or higher, a relevant Level 2 Apprenticeship; other relevant qualifications and experience.

The duration of this Apprenticeship will typically take up to 18 months to complete, although the exact duration will be dependent on the previous experience of the individual.

50% Competency Based Interview (underpinned by portfolio of evidence)

A one-to-one interview with the apprentice, using structured questions to test their understanding and application of knowledge, and to assess their soft skills, behaviours and personal leadership style.
50% Presentation with Question & Answer

Apprentices will prepare and deliver a presentation (followed by questions and answers) based on topic(s) covered within the apprenticeship. The presentation and questioning elements must take place on a one to one basis between the IEPA and the Apprentice. Presentation titles are set post gateway.

20% off the job training is a mandatory requirement when completing any Apprenticeship Standard.
